Griffin had his last basketball game of the season. They always play our in town rival the last game and it is always a heated battle- just like Duke and Carolina. The teams are pretty evenly matched but our coach is a Carolina fan- enough said! He doesn't always make the best decisions and this game was no different. Griffin's team ended up losing by three so it was a disappointing way to end the year. Griffin played good and overall had a good season despite some frustrating moments. Now it is on to tennis which is much less stressful for all of us!

Reese's soccer

Reese's team had their first games of the spring season this weekend. She has a new coach and 3 new players on her team so they have a few kinks to work out but they played fairly good overall. They have their first tournament next week so we will see if their practices this week are effective in correcting their mistakes.

Carson made the Team!!!

Carson made the JV soccer team at Dutch Fork. She was one of four 7th graders to make the team so she was very excited. It was a rough week of try-outs physically and emotionally but she/we made it through and now we have even more soccer games to attend! Between Carson's club team and JV, plus Reese's club team and Brett and Hadley's rec teams we will be spending a lot of time at the soccer fields. 

And the beat goes on...

Now that Murphy can stand in his crib he has a habit of rattling and shaking the sides while he is waiting for someone to come and get him. He is always happy just LOUD!

Does This Look Comfortable?

This is how I found Paisley sunning herself the other day. She stayed in this position for about 20 minutes. I am not sure that this is the most comfortable way to take a nap but I guess she thought it was.

Brett's 1st Basketball Game!!!

Brett has been practicing basketball in the driveway for awhile now and he finally had his 1st real game! We aren't crazy about the Tarheel blue uniforms but what are you going to do? Notice in the pre-game huddle how Brett is a bit smaller than his team mates- I think he got signed up for the wrong age group but he is such a BEAST (ha-ha) it really doesn't matter! He was so cute and even managed to score a basket-YEAH! His team won 12-6 in a heated battle. After the game Brett had some complaints about the ref-ing- imagine that- claiming he wasn't calling any fouls! I guess he has been listening to me too much at Griffin's games! By the way- his team voted and decided their name would be the FIREBREATHERS! Sounds like something 6 year old boys would come up with. Stay tuned for some more hooping in the weeks to come.

Gumballs

We have a tree in our yard that drops these prickly balls in our yard. They really hurt when you step on them so we have enlisted the boys to pick them up and dump them in the woods. We started out by offering them a penny a gumball but it got too pricey so now they just do it for "fun"- plus it gives them something to fill up their wheelbarrow with.
