Make Way for Ducklings
We went to the "Duck Pond" to see if we could find any ducklings. It is still a little early so we only saw the big ducks and lots of turtles, too. Whit really wanted to pet the ducks and I think they would have let him because they were very friendly and curious but I encouraged him to just look at them. We will go back in a few weeks and see if any babies have hatched.

Free at Last, Free at Last!
Every once in awhile someone forgets to shut the gate to the stairs. Faster than lightening, Murphy seizes the opportunity to scramble up the steps. You have never seen someone crawl so fast- laughing all the way- which alerts mom that he has made a break and quickly sets her in to action- replacing him back at the bottom of the steps- BUMMER!
The Prisoner
Murphy has reached the age where we have to close off the stairs. Since our stairs are too wide for a baby gate we had to buy this piece of wood that blocks them off. Unfortunately, he still has access to the first step so he will climb up on the step and hold on to the board shaking it back and forth with the hope that it will somehow move out of his way. He hasn't had any luck so far but I am sure the day will come when he figures it out.
Rojo the Firetruck
Whit is in a fireman/firetruck loving phase right now and he got lots of firefighting stuff for his birthday-
fireman suit/hat
fire hose
firetruck
He named his firetruck "ROJO" because that is the name of the firetruck on DORA THE EXPLORER.
It even has a hose that squirts real water so we have been putting out lots of fires and watering all of the trees and bushes at the same time- nothing like multitasking!
Stop and Smell the Roses
Ok, so there are no roses but Spring is in full swing around here. Everything is starting to bloom including our very STINKY Bradford Pear tree- it looks nice but it smells like vomit! The kids have coined it the "Stinky Tree". We also had some daffodils and hyacinth blooming under the "Stinky Tree"- had being the key word- because Whit decided to pluck every single flower off of the stems! So much for spring color- now all we have are green stalks sticking out of the ground. It has been so warm and sunny and now that March has arrived I am keeping my fingers crossed that winter will not return.
