Hadley's Trampoline Tricks

Hadley demonstrating some of her gymnastics skills on the trampoline

Trampoline Fun!

"Some assembly required!"

Well, our trampoline finally came and Kevin & Griffin got up early on Saturday and put it together. It only took them about 2 hours! The kids are very excited and have had fun bouncing all weekend. I think we were out jumping on it at 7 am on Sunday. Thankfully, our neighbors are out of town!

Highlighter Man

Yes, Whit has found another use for a highlighter- Glow-in-the Dark belly. I think I left him alone for 2 seconds while I put some clothes in the dryer and this is what I returned to. You have to watch this kid like a hawk!

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year! (HA-HA)

Griffin- 1st Day of High School! AAAGGGHHH!

Carson- 1st Day of Middle School

Reese- 1st Day of 4th Grade

Hadley- 1st Day of 2nd Grade

Today was the first day of school for all the "big" kids. Griffin and Carson are both going to new schools so it should be an exciting first day for them. I just hope they don't get lost looking for their classes. I am sure they will all have lots to tell me when they get home and I will have a sea of paperwork to fill out! YIPPEE! Can you say writers cramp?

I know you all are not going to believe it but we got a new puppy!!!! She is a mini dachshund/chihuahua mix and her name is Paisley. The girls saved up their allowance and convinced Poppy to let them get just 1 more dog- well, puppy actually. He agreed much to our surprise and the girls searched high and low until they found a puppy that they all agreed on. She is 8 weeks old and sooooo cute as you can see. Parker has been very good so far. He was more interested in the new squeeky toy he got!

Happy Birthday Colin!!!

Colin @ 6 months- HOW CUTE!!!!
Colin @ 17! Still cute just in a different way.

Grandpa Bill and Colin came down for a quick visit before school started. It was also Colin's 17th birthday! WOW! Hard to believe that he came in to this world 17 years ago weighing in at a little over 5 lbs. and now he is 6' 4"! We had a little cake for him- it wasn't very good- SORRY COLIN- but we tried. I hope the cake he got at home was better!

Rawl's Creek Junior Championship

Griffin played in a tennis tournament over the weekend. He had not played in a few weeks so he was a little rusty but managed to win a couple of matches. It was sooooo hot that we were all thankful when it was over!

Hadley's 7th Birthday

We celebrated Hadley's birthday at Gram and Grandpa's. we ordered a special Gymnastics cake. She got the new Crocs and pink hoodie she had asked for and a "bag of cash" from Great Gram. She also got a trampoline that has yet to arrive but she can't wait to bounce on it.

Hadley's Ear piercing

Before

After

For her birthday, Hadley decided that she wanted to get her ears pierced so we got up early and headed to the Mall first thing on Saturday morning. She picked pink daisy earrings and sat nervously awaiting the piercing gun. She was brave but shed a few tears when it was all over. She said it hurt more than expected but she survived. Unfortunately, on Saturday night she managed to get one of her earrings caught on a pillow and it came out. We could not get it back in so she had to go and get it re-pierced on Tuesday. Thankfully, it was only 1 ear this time and no tears were shed. Lets just hope we can keep them in for the next 6 weeks!

Raft Fun

Whit & Hadley

Hadley & Carson

Mimi brought these rafts and we had a blast riding the waves in them. We even got Reese out in one for a little bit before she decided she had had enough of the ocean (she has a fear of jellyfish and sharks!).

Hadley's early birthday

Pink Cake

The Birthday Girl

Since Hadley's birthday was the day after we left Kiawah we decided to celebrate with Mimi and Bepa a little early. She had her traditional pink cake with pink icing-YUM! She also got Taylor Swift concert tickets that she will get to go to with carson and Reese in September! She is very excited and can't wait for the show.

Kiawah- Part 1

We took our annual pilgrimage to Kiawah and we got to visit with Mimi, Bepa and Kimmy. The weather was great although we did get a few healthy downpours that flooded the streets but nothing that didn't pass quickly. We enjoyed the ocean (well, most of us) and the sand and we rode bikes and celebrated Hadley's birthday a few days early. The only downers were a jellyfish sting (on Hadley) and a shark siting! Luckily, we saw the shark on our last day but I don't think my kids will be too anxious to get back in the water anytime real soon!

Golfing

Kevin & Griffin- photographer Brett (not bad for a 4 year old)

I am pretty sure this is a violation of course rules!

Brett loves the sand!

Kevin, Griffin & Brett went golfing while they were in Cashiers. They managed to lose most of their balls but still had fun. They had the entire course to themselves so Brett was able to practice his stroke and violate a few sandtraps in the process.

Visit to the Mountains

Kevin, Griffin, Carson, Reese & Brett went for a quick visit to Cashiers while Hadley was at Gymnastics camp. The had fun hiking, golfing, swimming and playing with the cousins- Cole, Jake & Emma. They also enjoyed the fact that it was about 15 degrees cooler up there than it was at home!
